New Seven Wonders Of Nature

The New7Wonders of Nature campaign started in 2007, immediately after the campaign to elect the man-made New7Wonders of the World, in which more than 100 million votes were cast. From over 440 participants representing over 220 countries and through a national qualification and race to become one of the Top 77, as well as the recommendations of the Panel of Experts led by Prof. Federico Mayor, the list of 28 “Official Finalist Candidates” was determined. On November 11th, 2011, the New Seven Wonders Of Nature were pronounced.

The Amazon Rainforest And River

The Amazon of South America is the second longest river in the world and by far the largest by waterflow with an average discharge greater than the next seven largest rivers combined (not including Madeira and Rio Negro, which are tributuaries of the Amazon). The Amazon, which has the largest drainage basin in the world, about 7,050,000 square kilometres (2,720,000 sq mi), accounts for approximately one-fifth of the world’s total river flow. Also, it is very important to mention that this river flows through seven countries: Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, French Guiana, Peru and Suriname.

Ha Long Bay (Vietnam)

Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a popular travel destination, located in Vietnam. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes. Ha Long Bay is a center of a larger zone which includes Bái T Long bay to the northeast, and Cát Bà islands to the southwest. Ha Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone.

Table Mountain (South Africa)

Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa, and is featured in the flag of Cape Town and other local government insignia. It is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top. The mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park.

Iguazu Falls (Brazil, Argentina)

Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Brazilian State of Paraná and the Argentine Province of Misiones. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River originates near the city of Curitiba. It flows through Brazil for most of its course. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Brazil and Argentina.

Joseph Anthony “Tony” Cox (born March 31, 1958) is an American midget and actor known for his comedic performances in Bad Santa, Me, Myself and Irene, Date Movie and Disaster Movie. He is also known for his work in George Lucas’s Willow and as an Ewok in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. In the two spin-off films that followed, he played Widdle Warrick. Danny Woodburn (born July 26, 1964) is an American film, television and stage actor best known for having played Mickey Abbott on the sitcom Seinfeld. Born in Philadelphia, with more than 120 TV appearances, Woodburn has had recurring roles on shows such as Tracey Takes On, Baywatch, Murder, She Wrote, Charmed, Becker, Bones, and the soap opera Passions. Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage (born June 11, 1969) is an American film, television and theater actor. Since his breakout role in the 2003 film The Station Agent, he has acted in Elf, Underdog, Find Me Guilty, the 2007 film Death at a Funeral and its 2010 remake, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Since 2011 he has starred in the HBO series Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin’s series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire, which earned him the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Dinklage was born with achondroplasia, causing dwarfism. His height is 4’5″ (1.35m).

Verne J. Troyer

Verne J. Troyer (born January 1, 1969), is an American stand-up comedian, actor, stuntman and performer, best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers series. Troyer is also known for his height of 2 ft 8 in (0.81 m), the result of cartilage–hair hypoplasia dwarfism, making him one of the shortest men in the world. Troyer is also known for playing Griphook the Goblin in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. As Mini-Me in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), Troyer earned his claim to fame as the smaller imitation sidekick of Dr. Evil (Mike Myers). Troyer found roles in several major motion pictures like How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Bubble Boy in 2001.

Michael J. Anderson (October 31, 1953) is an American actor known for his roles as the Man from Another Place in David Lynch’s television series Twin Peaks, the epilogue and prologue film of the series, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and Samson Leonhart on the HBO series Carnivàle. Anderson is a dwarf, standing 3 foot 7 inches tall. Anderson portrayed a man of average height in Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, using a prosthetic body. From 2003 to 2005, Anderson played in Carnivàle.

Warwick Ashley Davis

Warwick Ashley Davis (born 3 February 1970) is an English actor. Davis is known for playing the title characters in Willow and the Leprechaun series of films; other prominent roles include Wicket W. Warrick in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter movies, the body of Marvin the Paranoid Android in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, as well as Nikabrik in the Walden Media version of Prince Caspian and Reepicheep in the BBC television versions of Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Mr Glimfeather the owl in The Silver Chair. Gurdeep Roy (born 1957), sometimes credited as Roy Deep, Gordeep Roy, or just Deep Roy, is a Kenyan-born English actor, stuntman and puppeteer of Indian descent. Born Mohinder Purba in Nairobi, Roy is 4 ft 4 in (132 centimetres) tall. Roy made his professional screen acting debut in a 1976 episode of The New Avengers entitled “Target!” as character named Klokoe. He has done many other roles in movies and on television, including The X-Files, Flash Gordon, Return to Oz (as the Tin Woodsman), Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal as a puppeteer extra, The NeverEnding Story as Teeny Weeny, the rider of the “racing snail”, Alien From L.A., Howling VI: The Freaks as Mr Toones and Return of the Jedi as Droopy McCool and in The Haunted Mansion. Most recently, he appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as an Egyptian guard and in the 2009 film Star Trek as “Keenser”, Montgomery Scott’s assistant on the ice planet Delta Vega.

Jason Acuña (born May 16, 1973), also known as Wee-Man, is an American TV host and actor. He is one of the stars of Jackass on MTV and the host of NESN’s skateboarding show 54321. Acuña has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, and is 4 ft 0.5 in (1.23 m) tall. He is also a professional skateboarder. In 2007, Acuña starred in the reality TV series Armed and Famous and in July 2007, Acuña appeared on TV as a host of MTV’s Scarred Live.

Daniel Michael DeVito, Jr.

Daniel Michael DeVito, Jr. (known as Danny DeVito, born November 17, 1944) is an American actor, comedian, director and producer. He first gained prominence for his portrayal of Louie De Palma on the ABC and NBC television series Taxi (1978–1983), for which he won a Golden Globe and an Emmy. After Taxi ended, DeVito began a successful film career, starting with roles in 1983′s Terms of Endearment, Romancing the Stone, and The Jewel of the Nile. In 1986, DeVito starred in Ruthless People, in 1987, he made his feature-directing debut with the dark comedy Throw Momma from the Train. DeVito’s work during this time includes Other People’s Money with Gregory Peck, director Barry Levinson’s Tin Men as a competitive rival salesman to Richard Dreyfuss’ character, two co-starring vehicles with Arnold Schwarzenegger (the comedies Twins and Junior), and playing The Penguin as a deformed sociopath in director Tim Burton’s Batman Returns (1992). DeVito also expanded into dramatic roles with The Rainmaker, Hoffa (1992), Jack the Bear (1993), L.A. Confidential, The Big Kahuna, and Heist (2001), as a gangster nemesis to Gene Hackman’s character.

Matthew James Roloff (born October 7, 1961) is an actor, author, farmer and businessman, best known for participating with his family in the reality television program Little People, Big World seen on TLC. The show featured the Roloffs’ daily life. Roloff has dwarfism, as does his wife Amy and one of their four children, Zachary. Matt appeared as an Ewok in the Star Wars TV movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.
